Pain Medicine is a relatively new field in medical science and is only recognized as a fully functioning department in a few hospitals in Kerala. Keeping to its promise of best health care at cost-effective prices, Sanjeevani Multispeciality Hospital has invited consulting doctor, Dr. Murali Krishnan, to guide us in our endeavor. Over the last decade, he has been working as the Visiting Consultant Interventional pain physician in many premier hospitals including Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. He has performed the first nonsurgical discectomy/ endoscopic neurectomy and Vertebroplasy in Kerala and is probably the only interventionist to do so.
There are namely two types of diagnosis for pain- Chronic and Acute. This pain can be the result of an injury, surgery, stress, or improper posture. No matter what the cause, we have a treatment that will suit you and your lifestyle.
Interventional pain medicine is a collaborative effort of various departments and is a unique form of medicine as no two people or pain can be diagnosed and treated in the same manner. With a combination of physical medicine, relaxation techniques, acupuncture, cognitive therapy etc. pain can be managed if not totally eradicated successfully to allow the patient life of dignity and freedom.
